Decibelcast Vol.15 “Distance”

When we are separated from those we love the distance no matter how great, no matter if physical or emotional in nature, can feel like a multi-verse. Sometimes that distance can melt away in a phone call or a smile or words on a page and other times it’s a persistent strangle hold in the core of our being. Wherever you are in the world there’s more than likely someone across an ocean, state lines or merely a wall away that you’d like to feel closer to, this mix reflects that emotion. A natural extension from our last Decibelcast “Wandering” comes Decibelcast Vol.15 “Distance”

Still Corners – New LP “Strange Pleasures” & Fireflies 7″

Still Corners‘ follow-up to 2011’s Creatures of an Hour, Strange Pleasures, is prepped for release on March 5th via Sub Pop. The London based 2 piece released a 7″ “tour only” single back at the end of September. Two songs, Fireflies explores a slightly more produced, electro-pop feel and Hearts of Fools while it is more reminiscent of the lullaby inspired atmosphere found on their debut does seem to be a step into a more refined pop sensibility. they gave us a download of Fireflies with it’s release and now they have opened up the b side for free downloading as well, but… I highly recommend picking up a physical copy here (while they last). Check back for news on the new LP as it is revealed.

So as we head into the depth of winter (in some parts of the world anyway) use this little mix along with your mittens to stay warm against the elements.

Still Corners – Creatures of an Hour

The second single, Into The Trees, off London based Still Corners’ forthcoming debut LP, Creatures of an Hour, to be released October 11th via Sub Pop Records has just surfaced. It’s another dreamy, psych/pop infected jam with lots of layered electro madness.

Tessa Murray’s tender vocals are carried by songwriter, Greg Hughes vivid sonic textures. These songs capture elusive dream fragments extracting subtle emotion. Sample the new singles, Into the Woods and Cuckoo from the forthcoming album, watch a couple videos and download some older tracks below.
